GROW ORGANIC FOOD COURSE

SUNDAY, 29 AUGUST, 9am to 5 pm

This interactive course will teach you how to make compost, establish a permaculture garden, grow seedlings and harvest organic fresh produce.  The course costs R600 which includes all course materials, lunch and refreshments.  To book, complete the form on the Contact Us page and we will send you the program for the day.

 


 

Musical Magic at the Market – 
Live music has long been a feature at our market.  Thursdays usually see resident pianist, Michael du Preez, performing much-loved classical and contemporary music.  On Saturdays we have a variety of musicians playing in their own eclectic styles

PERFORMING IN AUGUST 2010:
SATURDAY, 28th Anthony Caplan is a well-known local musician with more than 15 years experience.  His music features classical, African, Caribbean and cross-over genres and is an absolute delight
PERFORMING IN SEPTEMBER 2010:
SATURDAY, 4th

Afrida Marimba Band, fresh from their tour overseas and performances at the 2010 world Cup.  The band play traditional African music with Marimba flair

SATURDAY, 11th

Guitar duo Cindy Alter and Stewart Irving perform some of the best songs from the last three decades as well as music from their latest album

SATURDAY, 18th

Pianist Neal Robertson plays an eclectic mix of classical, modern and show tunes

SATURDAY, 25th

Vocal and keyboard duo John & Ryan are a 'class act' who have a melodic repertoire of easy listening jazz and world music

ORIGAMI WORKSHOP - SATURDAY, 28 AUGUST from 10 am to 2 pm

Origami is fun for all ages and abilities.  Join the workshop and learn to make stars, gift boxes and 3d shapes. 

PUPPET SHOW AND PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOP - SATURDAY, 4 SEPTEMBER from 11 am to 2.30 pm

Children of all ages are fascinated by puppet shows - join us on Saturday, 4 September when the charming Spellbound Puppet Theatre will entertain young an old alike.  After the show children can make their own glove puppets to take home.  The show is free, the workshop costs R40 per person.

MOONLIGHT MARKETS BEGIN - TUESDAY, 16, 23 & 30 NOVEMBER, 5 - 9 pm

Unique in Jo'burg.  Visit the market on a summer evening and enjoy good music, a candlelit dinner and some relaxed evening shopping.

CHRISTMAS MOONLIGHT MARKETS and CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT - TUESDAY, 7, 14 & 21 DEC

Sing Carols by Candlelight.  Relax and enjoy delicious freshly prepared food.  Find unique Christmas gifts for your loved ones.  Christmas Moonlight markets are great fun for all the family.
